Goals and characteristics:

The Shoulder and Elbow fellowship includes primary responsibilities for surgical in-hospital patients at both the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and at Methodist Hospital.

The outpatient facilities are those of the Rothman Institute and its satellites in Center City, Philadelphia, and adjacent communities.

The entire spectrum of shoulder and elbow clinical entities are encountered and treated.  An equal balance of open and arthroscopic surgery will be included in the fellowship experience.  In addition to the clinical responsibilities, the Fellow will be expected to participate in ongoing, as well as original clinical and basic science research projects.  The fellow will also be expected to participate in considerable teaching responsibilities, including presentation of original work at Grand Rounds and national meetings.
