Fellowship Description:

The Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship in the NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is a comprehensive educational experience for individuals who have completed their orthopaedic surgery residency training.  The goals of the fellowship are for each fellow to 1) develop a wide knowledge base and to gain extensive experience in the evaluation and management of shoulder and elbow disorders; 2) to participate in teaching the principles of the management of shoulder and elbow disorders to orthopaedic residents and medical students and 3) to participate in shoulder and elbow research with the goals of improving their research skills and expanding the fund of knowledge concerning shoulder and elbow disorders.

The fellowship provides exposure to the full spectrum of shoulder and elbow disorders.  There is extensive experience in outpatient care and a large volume of operative and arthroscopic procedures.  The shoulder fellowship is also integrated with our sports medicine fellowship program to maximize exposure to sports related shoulder and elbow disorders.
