Goals and characteristics:
The goal of the fellowship is to provide postgraduate education at the highest depth and breadth of experience in routine, complex, and revision problems affecting the shoulder and elbow.

This is a one-year fellowship program which will be organized with rotations at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the two main teaching institutions at Harvard Medical School. Opportunities for elective rotations in both Europe and the USA which provide novel educational experiences in shoulder and elbow to supplement the Harvard experience will be made available with stipend for travel.

The experience will entail exposure to all problems affecting the shoulder from arthroscopy to arthroplasty and with an emphasis on complex problem solving. Approaches to traumatic and reconstructive management of elbow will also be part of the experience. Opportunity for both basic science and clinical research are available.

Teaching is facilitated by a clinical volume of over 1500 shoulder surgeries/year, interaction with a Sports Medicine Program, and access to a 2 terabyte teaching file of complex shoulder problems.

This fellowship participates in the ASES match program.
