The Cincinnati Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship is a dedicated shoulder and elbow fellowship. During the one-year experience, the fellow rotates with 3 experienced fellowship-trained surgeons who collectively treat the entire spectrum of shoulder and elbow pathology. Our fellows have been averaging over 800 surgical cases. The surgical experience includes exposure to the full spectrum of arthroscopic shoulder surgeries as well as more complex arthroscopic procedures including superior capsular reconstruction, AC joint reconstruction and arthroscopic Latarjet. The fellow is also exposed to several hundred shoulder arthroplasty surgeries including stemless and stemmed anatomic shoulder replacement, reverse shoulder arthroplasty and revision surgeries. Shoulder fracture and both open and arthroscopic elbow surgeries round off the surgical experience. A robust clinic experience, one day each week, features one-on-one mentorship and complements the surgical experience. A year-long structured educational program, comprising regular didactic lectures and cadaveric bio-skills instruction, is also provided. All faculty members participate in ASES and industry sponsored multi-center studies including prospective randomized clinical trials. The fellow has the opportunity to participate in these studies, as well as in retrospective studies, and the writing of review papers and book chapters. After hours responsibilities are minimal.
This fellowship is an ASES approved Shoulder & Elbow Fellowship program and participates in the San Francisco Match.
