Event Description:
Please join us for a special evening of art, food and cocktails at the Barnes Foundation as we hear from keynote speakers Dr. Evan Flatow and Karen Flatow. Located in the heart of Center City Philadelphia, the Barnes Museum houses an impressive collection of the world’s most important paintings, including works by Renoir, Cézanne, Matisse, and Picasso. Enjoy a refined culinary experience in a light filled event space with an expansive terrace and private access to the art collection as we raise awareness and funds for shoulder and elbow research and education.

Evan L. Flatow, MD
President, Mount Sinai West Hospital, Lasker Professor of Orthopedic Surgery
Topic: Dr. Flatow is an internationally renowned expert in shoulder and elbow surgery. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the ASES Foundation. A nationally and internationally recognized leader in shoulder surgery, he has made many important clinical, educational, and research contributions to the care of shoulder disorders.

Guest Speaker(s):
Karen Flatow, MFA, MBA
Founder, Hesse Flatow Gallery
Topic: Karen Hesse Flatow received an MBA and MFA from Columbia University and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. She founded the Hesse Flatow gallery in 2019, which is an artist-run gallery focusing on emerging and mid-career artists with diverse voices, presenting debut solo shows and focused presentations in the West Chelsea Arts Building adjacent to the High Line in New York City. As the wife of Dr. Flatow for over 35 years, she is uniquely poised to comment on the intersection of art and shoulder surgery.
