IASES Traveling Fellowship Details – India to the United States

The four-week traveling fellowship will allow two young Indian orthopedic surgeons to come spend time with expert orthopedic surgeons across the United States.

The goals of this program are:

  • To develop the international traveling fellow’s clinical and leadership skills
  • To create opportunities for international traveling fellows to build relationships with leading shoulder and elbow surgeons in the US and other ASES members.
  • To promote international research collaborations.
  • To generate inter-continental educational opportunities.
  • To encourage ASES membership and meeting attendance from the Indian subcontinent.
  • To prepare international traveling fellows to become future leaders of the field in their countries.

Inclusion Criteria

Fellows selected will be Indian physicians who are under 40 years old, have completed their orthopedic residency program, have been a fellow for at least 6 months, have been involved with IAS and/or SESI (preference given for members 2+ years), and are committed and passionate about advancing the field of Shoulder and Elbow surgery in India upon return. Consideration will be given to fellows across different regions of India. Fellows will provide reports throughout the experience as well as a final report upon completion of the fellowship.
